The Royal Mile, Edinburgh's oldest street and Holyrood Palace are a 5-10 minute walk.   Princes St. the main shopping throughfare and Waverly Station and Waverly Bridge, the main departure points for excursions and tours, are a 15 minute walk - a walk that takes you  past Carlton Hill and the  picturesque Regent Gardens with its unrestricted views of Holyrood Park and Arthurs Seat.
Heading west along London Rd a 15 minute walk will take you to  Edinburgh's famous Playhouse Theatre and the numerous pubs, clubs and restaurants of the fashionable Broughton St.
